Client Sectors

M·E·L Research provides research and technical services to eight principal client sectors across the broad spectrum of the UK's public services:

M·E·L's brand is about more than just about delivering surveys - it's about helping our clients evaluate and interpret what the results mean for them, and learn how improvements can be made. M·E·L stands for 'Measurement, Evaluation, Learning' - the three key principles that help our clients deliver excellent public services. Even more so in the present climate, by using research evidence we can help our public sector clients evaluate current performance and deliver crucial cost savings by delivering more effective, targeted services to customers.

 

To deliver the 'learning' aspect of our services we have complemented the traditional research and technical division by adding a separate service development arm of the business, the M·E·L Expert Practice Academy where national experts cover three cross-cutting themes:

  • M·E·L Environment: covering expert advice on waste and resources management, carbon reduction, environmental health and public protection
  • M·E·L Communities: a social policy consultancy practice covering community empowerment, social cohesion, inequalities and social justice
  • M·E·L Healthcare: service improvement support covering public health, primary care services, healthy lifestyle and behaviour change initiatives.
