M·E·L are to exhibit and present at the 18th UK Public Health
Association Annual Public Health Forum. The conference
'Confronting the Public Health Crisis' is to be held at the
Bournemouth International Centre on 24th-25th March 2010. This will
be the forth year that M·E·L Research and Service Development has
had a stand at the event.
This year M·E·L will be promoting an exciting new venture in
collaboration with CACI, the leading provider of marketing
solutions and information systems, to meet the needs of PCTs in
achieving the standards of 'world class commissioning', and in
finding cost-effective ways to reach local and national health
improvement targets.
Together we can:
- Identify the health behaviours and lifestyle issues of
individual communities, and highlight health inequalities.
- Target and rigorously evaluate local health improvement
campaigns delivered through social marketing and behaviour change
initiatives
- Maximise cost-effectiveness and value for money through advice
on service and delivery costs according to local needs.
To find out more about this initiative come and visit or stand
at the conference, or attend Dr Robert Pocock's presentation on
'Social Marketing - trick or treat?' on Thursday 25th
March at 14:30.
In addition to this, our Senior Social Research Consultant, Dr
Liz Yardley, will be presenting a paper on 'Brokering Low-Level
Services for Older People: Building and Maintaining Network
Relationships' at 16:00 on Wednesday 24th March.
