Quantitative research services

Face to face interviews

We have a reliable, retained in-house field team of around 65 interviewers plus some 50 freelance social researchers employed as needed, out on the streets across the country. Many of our field interviewers have been with us for a number of years. All our field interviewers are trained by our Field Team Manager, Azim Khan, and their quality standards are monitored on a project by project basis by our Senior Data Analyst Jenny Chen. As with all our quantitative research methods, we have strict quality control processes to ensure MRS-compliant standards are consistently delivered.

The ethnic and social diversity of modern Britain means the diversity of our field team is a vitally important asset for many clients. Fully inclusive consultation needs to engage those minority and recent migrant communities with special needs and aspirations, who can easily miss out on mainstream services. To meet this special need we have build a uniquely diverse field team, ideally suited to research in today's mobile, rapidly changing communities in both urban and rural locations.

We are able to offer both CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing) and the traditional PAPI (Paper and Pencil Interviewing) for our face to face interviews.

Postal surveys

Complementing our Field Teams we have a dedicated in-house Data Operations team working in the head office processing postal surveys. Having an in-house team giving us full control over all aspects of the mailing and ensuring that we have tight quality control over every stage of the process. For large batch assignments we can out-source to specialist mailhouses such as our partner Arcane Direct Mail. We have strict data protection quality procedures in place to ensure the identity of respondents is kept separate from their responses, and data checking procedures to ensure the quality of the data meets industry standards.

CATI telephone surveys

Based in our Science Park head office, we operate a specialist CATI telephone research centre. Real time data entry is run using SNAP whilst the interview is taking place. For quality purposes and to retain qualitative data we operate a Liquid Voice digital recording system, which records all telephone interviews from designated phones. Listen-in is available for internal and client quality assurance, to identify any areas where further training may be required for interviewers. Call extracts can, with respondent permission, be used as 'voice-over' in presentations, to convey consumer views to clients directly.

Online surveys

SNAP Webhost is the package we use for our expanding range of online surveys. As with much of our business, work is managed in house and not outsourced to other providers, enabling us to monitor all surveys in real time, including online tracker surveys. Results from online surveys can be combined with other methods or kept standalone. Our online surveys are hosted as an extension of our website, but we can also provide the link to clients so that survey participants can access the survey via their own website.
